What is an AI receptionist?
An AI receptionist is software that handles the first contact with your business. It answers a call or message, asks who is getting in touch and what they need, and sends you the details so you can follow up. Some can also book appointments or answer common questions from information you give them, such as opening hours or the areas you cover.
It doesn't replace someone who knows your business. It makes sure nobody is left with silence while you're busy.
Where Aimy is up to
Aimy is the AI receptionist AI My Biz is setting up for small businesses. It is designed to answer calls and enquiries in business hours, capture the caller's name, number and reason for calling, and text the details to you.
It is not live for customers yet. We would rather test it properly on UK voices, accents and real business calls than launch early. If you request it now, I will tell you honestly when I can start you and what it will and won't do for your business at that point.

What to ask any AI receptionist provider
- Does it tell callers they're speaking to an automated assistant?
- What does it do when it can't answer, and how quickly do I find out?
- Does it work well with UK accents and noisy backgrounds? Can I hear real examples?
- Are calls recorded or transcribed, where is that stored, and who can see it?
- Can I switch it off easily, and am I tied into a long contract?
- What exactly will it say about my prices and availability? (It should say only what you've agreed.)
