Practical AI for heating engineers
AI for heating engineers. No heating? They'll ring the next engineer.
You've got a boiler panel off and a customer watching. The phone rings and it's someone with no heating. A missed-call text-back sends them a message asking what's wrong, so they stay with you. I set it up for you.
Nothing is charged until you agree. No jargon, and no obligation.
Why heating engineers lose jobs to missed calls
No heating or no hot water is a call people make quickly, and they'll keep ringing until someone answers. Winter is when you're busiest, and when missed calls cost most.
A text asks for the fault, the boiler make if they know it, and where they are. That's enough for you to decide who to call back first when you're out from behind the boiler.
What your caller gets
Hi, it's [your company name]. Sorry I missed your call, I'm on a job at the moment. What's the problem with your heating or hot water, and where are you? I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
You can add a line asking for the boiler make and age if that helps you. See the full explanation of missed-call text-back.
Other places AI can save a heating engineer time
- Reminding customers when their annual service is due
- Following up quotes for boiler replacements
- Drafting replies to enquiries, which you check before they go
- Asking for a review after a service or install
Today I set up the missed-call text-back. The rest is where your top 3 can point you, and I'll tell you honestly what's possible.
What it won't do
- It doesn't diagnose a fault or tell anyone it's safe. If someone smells gas, they should call the gas emergency number, not wait for a text.
- It can't text callers who withhold their number, or ring from a landline that can't receive texts.
- Diverted calls can use minutes on some mobile plans. Check yours, or ask me to.
- I can't promise a number of extra jobs or customers. It fixes one gap, and that's all.
What it costs
Missed-call text-back is £59 a month plus a £195 one-off setup. Prices are provisional while package terms are confirmed. VAT and terms are confirmed before you buy, and nothing is charged until you agree. An AI receptionist, Aimy, is coming soon but isn't live for customers yet.
Questions heating engineers ask
Does it work for gas emergencies?
No. Anyone who smells gas should call the National Gas Emergency Service straight away. This text is for ordinary enquiries.
Can it send service reminders?
That's not something I set up today. Right now the service I can deliver is missed-call text-back. Service reminders are the sort of thing your top 3 might suggest.
What does it cost?
£59 a month plus £195 setup, provisional. Package terms are confirmed before you buy.
